Weihai, China - February 3 to 10, 2023: Mr. Weiqiang Hou, Deputy Director of Weihai Global Partners Business Center, led a delegation to Belgium, France, and Germany with the aim of promoting high-quality economic and trade development in Weihai through enhanced cooperation with European partners.

This marked Weihai's first economic and trade delegation sent to Europe in three years. The visit focused on establishing closer contacts and exchanges with major European enterprises in the fields of intelligent manufacturing, medical devices, information technology, and new materials, among others. The delegation aimed to showcase Weihai's advantageous location, industry strengths, and environmental benefits, while exploring market potential, seeking cooperation opportunities, and expanding collaboration channels. The visit yielded positive results, paving the way for fruitful partnerships.

In Belgium, the delegation visited the Flanders Chinese Chamber of Commerce, engaging in in-depth discussions and information sharing on investment opportunities, enterprise resource expansion, and city marketing. Additionally, they held productive meetings with leading Belgian companies, including Barco, a prominent display equipment company, and Felix, a trade and cultural tourism company. These interactions focused on promoting Weihai's resource endowment, development opportunities, and business environment. Discussions also took place regarding potential collaborations in medical imaging, digital display equipment, trade, culture, and tourism exchange. The delegation also engaged with pet food and AVR machinery companies in Versailles to explore cooperative opportunities in the pet food and agricultural machinery and equipment sectors.
During their stay in France, the delegation visited the French IWF Group to gain comprehensive insights into the company's development and investment plans. They explored the possibility of collaboration in turbine, waste heat, and gas generator projects, while actively seeking to expand the Group's investment and operational scale in the Lactic Mountain French Junction Industry.


In Germany, the delegation met with RENAFAN Pension Group to introduce Weihai City's resources and advantages in the recreation and health industry, as well as investment opportunities. Face-to-face discussions with company executives focused on cooperation in nursing home projects. The delegation extended an invitation to the executives to visit Weihai in the near future, allowing them to personally assess the investment environment and expedite the implementation of the discussed projects. Additionally, the delegation visited the Bavarian State - Shandong Province Economic and Trade Exchange Promotion Association, aiming to foster collaboration and exchange with Bavarian enterprises.
Through this visit, the delegation demonstrated Weihai's open attitude towards the European business community and emphasized the importance of mutual benefit. This strengthened European businessmen's confidence in investing in Weihai while opening up new avenues for investment in Belgium, France, Germany, and other countries. These efforts lay a solid foundation for Weihai's expansion into the European market and further deepening cooperation with the European business community.
