Weihai Mayor’s International Economic Advisory Committee meeting was held

On September 7, the Weihai Mayor’s International Economic Advisory Committee meeting was held, with members gathering to offer suggestions for the city’s future industrial development. Weihai Communist Party Secretary Yan Jianbo attended and delivered closing remarks, while Committee Executive Chairman Ernest Nicolas and Mayor Kong Fanping gave keynote speeches.

Yan Jianbo expressed gratitude for the members’ long-standing support and stated that their recommendations would be carefully considered in shaping Weihai’s 15th Five-Year Plan. He emphasized adopting an international perspective to foster new productive forces, adhere to green and low-carbon development, and promote high-quality urban growth.

Ernest Nicolas analyzed Weihai’s industrial strengths and challenges, proposing enhanced investment in smart manufacturing digital infrastructure, improved supply chain efficiency, and strengthened training and education. He affirmed the committee’s commitment to supporting Weihai’s innovation-driven development.

Kong Fanping highlighted that Weihai is focusing on intelligent manufacturing, green energy, future space, and future health to cultivate future industries. She called on members to contribute ideas and collaborate in developing new growth drivers.

Fourteen committee members spoke on the theme of "seizing future industrial opportunities," offering insights in advanced manufacturing, low-altitude economy, and green low-carbon initiatives. The meeting also featured an advisory committee lecture to advance the integration of AI with traditional industries.
